Simple, flexible content design software
Pros

I love the ease of creating interactive and engaging e-learning content.

Cons

Sometimes it doesn't have the flexibility needed to truly design custom training elements.

Articulate was great at first but has since declined
Pros

I was a "beta" tester. It was reasonably priced and started off with a strong community, but it seems all of that was just to attract customers. The software has become much more expensive, and the community has dwindled. However, it's easy to use online and integrates well with other Articulate software, so easy that even a caveman could use it.

Cons

It's expensive and their licensing model has changed. The customization options are limited, making it feel a bit cookie cutter, with the same look and feel every time.

Exceptional tool for e-learning content creation
Pros

The functionality is great, offering lots of creative options that appeal to all types of learners. The basic features are easy to use with a user-friendly interface. I also appreciate the wide range of templates which help speed up course creation. As so many people use the software, there's a lot of support available outside of Articulate, forums, videos etc. The courses we create work well across all employee levels. I like being able to add extra resources and chats to build a community for a course.

Cons

The sheer number of options and the content library can be overwhelming for new users. It's very expensive for self employed e-learning producers.

Articulate 360 stands out as the top e-learning authoring tool
Pros

Even non-developers can easily unleash their creativity to create e-learning content. The interface is similar to MS PowerPoint, making it quick and easy for anyone to learn. Using the software helps users develop logical thinking especially through the trigger wizard

Cons

It's not compatible with MacBooks, you need a virtual machine to use it on a Mac. The speed of the created content isn't great and feels somewhat heavy. As a Korean user, I find that support for the Korean language is lacking, particularly with text input, font compatibility and TTS provision.

Simple and interactive course creation
Pros

It's easy to build and create content with a good stock image library to choose from. Plus, shareable preview links make it easy to show content to external people.

Cons

The search function could be improved, it only searches for words in the course titles right now, not within the content itself.

The best e-learning authoring platform available
Pros

Users gain a lot from the extensive content library, which includes millions of assets, along with robust collaboration features through Review 360. It also offers seamless LMS compatibility with SCORM and xAPI exports. Frequent updates, cloud based access and a supportive community all add significant value, making it the ideal platform for creating engaging, professional e-learning experiences

Cons

Pricing is quite expensive especially for individuals. Also its reliance on Windows for Storyline 360 limits functionality for Mac users, who need virtualization software.
