The best for training and managing

It is pretty easy to use and quick to learn which I think is great because many users are older and they find it simple to handle

Cons

After updates older users in our team needed some training but once trained they had no more issues.

Budget-friendly and flexible

Chamilo platform works really well for us. Also it has user-friendly interfaces that help our teachers adapt to digital transformation faster than with other LMS options.

Cons

It is not very popular, so some teachers in the beginning resist the change. Though it is not a fault from the software side.

reliable & user-friendly tool

Pros

The best thing about Chamilo is how user friendly it is. Most of our users need little to no support to set up and start using their online courses whether they are teachers or students. Plus it has all the essential features you expect from a flexible e-learning platform like communication tools, authoring, testing and statistics. Sure other platforms have more advanced options but in my experience most users do not actually use those extra features.

Cons

We liked it more if it had more plugins to connect with external tools.

Chamilo is easy and useful except for the exercise area which we cannot use because it requires PHP development.

It is free and easy to use which surprises me as it is rare for free and open-source software.

Cons

Chamilo compatibility with third party systems is quite limited so I hope they offer more flexibility in this area with future updates

Leading PHP e-learning system

Pros

Installing it through Softaculous was very easy and setting up the platform was simple too. Plus Chamilo includes all the basic tools needed for e-learning. Their authoring tool is excellent and flexible too as it makes course creation a simple task for us.

Cons

I found it hard to change the template and there are not many tutorials available online for that.

Does its job well

Pros

It is easy to use with great flexibility and high customizability. The community gives good feedback, plus updates are frequent, communication with developers is amazing and the thing I like the most is that it does not consume too many resources.

Cons

User manuals are not updated enough. Also some useful features are missing for me and the more advanced ones are hard to use. Plus some features need a dedicated server.

Reliable open-source LMS

Pros

Chamilo software is simple to install. And the good thing is that we can scale from a small virtual campus to a large setup, all while using open source software.

Cons

The mobile web experience is pretty decent but I feel like having an official mobile app would be highly beneficial.

Works without issues

Pros

Not only is it free but it is also easy to learn, simple for students to understand and quite user friendly to administer too. Overall I like it as it is a great platform.

Cons

Some functions do not work as well as I expected. Plus I could not get any email notifications to function properly.

Open-source solution designed for professionals

Pros

Once we get an idea how Chamilo is structured, it becomes very easy for us to work with it. Plus it offers lots of configuration options to fit different professional or other types of organizations.

Cons

It is created by a big and very active community but it does not get much support for development. Financial backing mainly comes from an official group of service providers who ensure the project stays sustainable. According to me it is a flaw that they should focus on.
