Cons

As a teacher or parent, you can quickly access coursework, feedback, grades and other resources all online. If you have any questions, you can join the community of members to get resources and assistance with any issues.

This software offers schools the necessary communication, classroom management and community building tools to thrive within the Australian educational context. It's highly responsive, adaptable and is designed with a deep understanding of the needs of Australian schools.

They could scale a bit better for iOS devices.

Setting up and using Schoolbox is pretty simple

Pros

Schoolbox is so easy for staff to set up their pages and for students to use. It has helped facilitate a shift in teaching practices, particularly in assessment and is now being utilized to enhance learning. Parents frequently access student assessment data via the app. The company provides excellent technical support and is receptive to feedback from teachers and schools, consistently adding new features based on user suggestions. They also host an annual Meetup conference for users, which has been very beneficial. The school received great support during implementation and their ongoing product support remains strong.

Cons

While the Markbook feature is useful, it lacks flexibility. We can't set up subfolders like we did with another Markbook system and this has been the most frustrating aspect for staff. Technically, it took some time to sync our SIS (PCSchool) with Schoolbox. Getting the two software systems to communicate effectively has been challenging. It works relatively well now, but since we don't have a live connection, we have to perform manual updates, which is time consuming and frustrating for the ICT team. However the issue lies more with our SIS than with this tool itself.

Once Schoolbox is fully set up and the transition phase is complete, its features become a valuable addition to Alamanda College. It has assisted in tracking student progress and ensuring consistency in curriculum delivery across different year levels. It also proves to be an effective tool for parent communication.

Cons

The initial setup with the software is quite complex. It takes a lot of dedicated time to get everything set up and training staff to use it effectively is also time consuming. Once set up, it can be rolled over each year, saving time in the future. However it will take at least 2 to 3 years for full adoption to occur from initial setup to effective usage.

Schoolbox is an easy to use platform that helps teachers, parents and students track learning outcomes. Its learning analytics provide valuable data for monitoring student growth. The team is always ready to help and find solutions that best meet the school's needs and priorities.

Cons

ePortfolio and pastoral system could be improved to better meet the specific needs of individual schools.

Schoolbox is always developing new features

Pros

We have been using it since 2013 and over the years, the platform has grown significantly and continues to evolve to meet the needs of our school. Some key features include the assessment calendar, online submissions, individualized news, push notifications for parents, markbook, course analytics and adaptable pages for classes, groups and information.

Cons

We don't have major complaints but there are plenty of small feature improvements that could be made. These are often addressed in major updates or point releases.

Some of the logic around class pages and units doesn't flow as smoothly as it could but the product is constantly improving.

Instant delivery of curriculum content, feedback and results helps reduce teacher admin time, allowing us to enhance the learning environment. The system's notifications, news and alerts can be tailored to specific audiences, minimizing the noise from general announcements. The product is constantly evolving with innovative approaches to classroom delivery.

Cons

The product lacks many typical administrative features such as advanced permission structures, capacity management and the ability to delete. Documents within the system are not dynamic and they are only uploaded and downloaded, which feels outdated in today's collaborative world.

Its userfriendly learning management system and fully customizable platform make digital transformation seamless. Customizing the platform's appearance ensures that the school can maintain its cultural identity while shifting learning into the digital space. Making resources accessible to learners enables more time in the classroom to focus on what matters most.
