Why I chose TRAIN?
Why I chose TRAIN?
Pros
TRAIN offers a wide range of public health learning opportunities, many from national course sponsors like the CDC, VA, Family Planning, plus state, regional, local and academic experts. It lets us provide required and optional training to the needed workforce even with limited budgets.
Cons
I have no hesitation about using this learning software.

Pros
As a course provider, I really like the new admin interface, it's very user friendly and makes inputting new trainings or editing existing ones easy.
Cons
Sometimes webpages take a long time to load, and when accessing a course, you have to click a more button to read full course details.

Pros
What really sets TRAIN apart from other learning management systems is that you don't have to pay per seat. This lets us grow without limits and branch out beyond traditional public health areas. For example many agencies post trainings on KansasTRAIN even though they have their own LMS, because those systems charge per seat and only work well for internal training. When these agencies want to train people outside their organization, they choose KansasTRAIN to avoid extra costs. The system recently got updates and improvements. It is easy to navigate for both new and experienced users. The data and reporting tools are great, we use them to track grant requirements, staff training and statewide training data. TRAIN was especially helpful when our agency went through PHAB accreditation. Plus user records stay with them no matter where their career takes them. With 29 state affiliates and 3 federal agencies involved, there is a huge variety of courses nationally.
Cons
There are some minor bugs after recent updates but the developers are tracking and fixing these issues as they come up, so its pretty good.
